Solar Installation: KU Innovation Park

Cromwell Solar is proud to have designed and installed one of the most impressive solar projects in the region on the West Campus of the University of Kansas at the KU Innovation Park. A total of 1022 bi-facial solar panels (which make power from both the front and back of the panels) produce about 730 megawatt-hours of electricity at the site annually. The project is spread out over three visually stunning carports and the rooftops of three separate buildings.

Besides the KU Innovation Park projects, Cromwell Solar has now installed solar and battery energy storage systems on campus at KU for the Jayhawk Welcome Center, Measurement Materials and Sustainable Environment Center (M2SEC) building, Hilltop Child Development Center, and others.

Cromwell’s history with KU, located in our hometown of Lawrence, stretches back decades. We’ve helped KU students through educational talks, consulting and materials assistance with their Studio 804 solar projects, and paid internship opportunities.
